PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy
Effective: July 24, 2026Last updated: August 26, 2026
LumiCal is committed to helping you manage your schedule with confidence.
1. Information We Collect
LumiCal does not send your name, email address, device identifier, or location to servers operated by the developer, nor does it collect that information on such servers. We also do not collect personal information for advertising, sale, or behavioral analytics. If you explicitly enable iCloud sharing, your data is handled as described under “iCloud Sharing” below.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Your events, tasks, member display names, photos attached to events, images selected for members, and onboarding completion status are stored on your device. You can remove this information by deleting events, resetting member images, using the in-app option to delete all data, or deleting the app.
3. iCloud Sharing
Only when you enable iCloud sharing does LumiCal save events, tasks, and member display names to Apple’s CloudKit. The data is stored in the private database of the person who starts sharing. People who accept the invitation can view and edit it through their shared database. It is not made available to people who have not been invited or to the public.
Photos attached to events and member images are not sent to CloudKit; they remain on each device. iCloud sharing requires an Apple Account and iCloud Drive, and uses the iCloud storage of the person who starts sharing. The owner manages sharing participants and permissions through Apple’s sharing controls.
Reset Sharing Connection removes only this device’s saved connection information; it does not delete the shared data from iCloud. While connected to a share, Delete All Data synchronizes deletion of the events, tasks, and member names currently shown in LumiCal. Removing participants, leaving a share, and deleting any remaining iCloud share or data are managed through Apple’s sharing and iCloud controls.
4. Photos and Camera
LumiCal uses Apple’s system photo picker when you add a photo or scan a schedule image. If you photograph a paper schedule, the camera is used only after you grant permission. The app can access only images you explicitly select or capture. Images assigned to events or members are resized for display and stored on your device.
5. Family Inbox
Family Inbox processes photos, images, PDFs, text, and ICS files on-device only when you explicitly select, capture, or share them. Originals and intermediate content are not saved to your calendar or sent to CloudKit. Only events and tasks you review and add are saved in the app and, when iCloud sharing is enabled, synced to CloudKit.
Original copies received through the share menu are temporarily stored in the protected App Group area used by LumiCal and its sharing feature. A copy is deleted when you finish reviewing or discard it. If a copy remains unprocessed for 24 hours, it is deleted the next time LumiCal checks. LumiCal does not delete the original photo or file from the source app.
6. In-App Purchases
LumiCal uses Apple StoreKit and the App Store for LumiCal Pro subscriptions and optional consumable support purchases. Apple manages purchasing, payment information, and subscription status. LumiCal verifies only Apple-signed entitlements and completed transactions on your device. We do not receive or store payment card information.
7. Notifications
LumiCal creates event notifications on your device only if you grant permission. You can use the app’s other features without allowing notifications.
8. Calendar Files
LumiCal imports or exports ICS files only when you explicitly choose to do so. Exported files are governed by the privacy policy of the storage location or sharing service you select.
9. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking
The LumiCal app does not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs.
The official website measures the page viewed, a broad traffic-source category, mobile or desktop category, and the placement of App Store buttons. These measurements are used only to evaluate advertising and improve the website, and are recorded as non-identifying aggregate categories. The website does not use cookies or a unique user identifier and does not collect names, email addresses, form contents, or events and tasks stored in the app. To avoid counting the same page repeatedly within one tab, only the measured page name and traffic-source category are temporarily stored in session storage and are removed when the tab is closed.
The website is delivered and measured through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process connection information required for delivery and security under its own policies. The developer does not record IP addresses, device identifiers, or browsing histories in LumiCal’s measurement requests.
10. Children’s Privacy
LumiCal does not require account registration or collect personal information outside the device. Parents and guardians can review or delete information stored on the device at any time.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy as the app changes or to reflect changes in applicable laws. We will announce material changes in the app or on the official LumiCal website.
